VIER PFOTEN employee Dr. Signe Preuschoft is a primatologist who is acting as Satwa Manager Advisor to support and train the incoming Satwa manager and a fresh team of Satwa Coordinators and Supervisors.

BOSF policy makers are organized in a Board of Trustees and a Board of Supervisors. From 2010 on, its executives are headed by one CEO who directs the departments of Finance and Administration, of Human Resources (all based in Bogor) of Fundraising/BOS Global (based in Stockholm), and the Managers of the regional Programmes at Samboja, Nyaru Menteng, and Mawas.

Work Post
The successful applicants will work in a team for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, based in Samboja, East Kalimantan, for 1 year, with a 6 month period of probation.


Assistant Coordinator for Releasable Orangutan Care
(Kalimantan Timur - Based in Samboja)

Responsibilities:

* Ability to train, mentor and discipline care takers
* Make animal caretaker time schedules incl. rotation and vacation planning
* Identify all orangutans individually by sight alone
* Suggest and discuss seating plans and social grouping for orangutans with the Coordinator of Orangutan Care
* In cooperation with Coordinator of Orangutan Care , develop/revise SOPs, implement SOPs
* Coordinate and supervise all sanitation, orangutan handling, grouping, feeding, enrichment, and training by staff inside the releasable orangutan department, and across departments with Veterinary and Technical Service staff.
* Inform Veterinary department daily on perceived health of every individual orangutan.
* Understand orangutan behaviour, supervise standard data collection and individual orangutan training by caretakers, evaluate observations and devise recommendations to the Coordinator of Orangutan Care for orangutan management on that basis
* In cooperation with Coordinator of Orangutan Care, develop standard procedures for orangutan rehabilitation, and reintroduction, implement these.
* Produce reports and summaries of activities as required by the Coordinator of Orangutan Care
* Assist in budget planning, esp. with respect to enrichment and nutrition
* Assist in planning and construction of holding facilities


* ROLE: Assistant Coordinator of Releasable Orangutan Care
* REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Orangutan Care
* STAFF MANAGED: 30 direct reports
* MAIN TASKS: Implement standards for daily routine operations, husbandry, and orangutan training, including supervision of basic behavioural recording by the care takers to provide top level care, enrichment and rehabilitation for releasable orangutans.

Requirements:

* Minimum S1 (Bachelor’s) degree in Zoology or Psychology
* Practical knowledge of orangutan behaviour and conservation
* At least 2 years of practical experience with rehabilitation/reintroduction of slow life history mammals
* Leadership skills
* Computer skills, especially MS office and emailing
* Fluent Indonesian language skills, spoken and written
* Basic English Language skills, spoken and written
* Knowledge of behavioural observation and recording methods
* Planning, project management, and organizing skills
* Capable of working both individually and as part of a team


* Preferable
o Experience with observing/censusing wild orangutans in the field
o Fluency in English, written and spoken
o Practical experience with rehabilitation/reintroduction or captive keeping of primates/orangutans.

Tanggungjawab
- Memastikan kebenaran penamaan/penulisan dan spesifikasi dari barang yang diriset
- Melakukan pencarian informasi yang diperlukan dengan cara market visit secara langsung, maupun sumber sekunder lainnya termasuk dari internet
- Melakukan data processing dan Quality Control secara rutin setiap bulannya
- Mandiri dan sanggup bekerja overtime untuk mencapai deadline

Kualifikasi
- Pria/Wanita, 22-27 tahun
- D3 jurusan statistik, MIPA, komputer
- Proaktif, tekun, detil dan senang bekerja dengan data/angka
- Kemampuan berbahasa Inggris (tertulis, pasif & aktif) sangat penting
- Kemampuan komputer terutama MS Excel dan Internet search engine
- Memiliki pengetahuan tentang barang elektronik (Audio/Visual, IT, Telecom, Home Appliances) & otomotif lebih disukai.

Job Accountabilities
Responsible for the successful planning, development, administration and execution of a specific project (s). This requires identifying customer needs, defining scope, estimating labor, technology and capital resources, scheduling resources, measuring and reporting performance. Responsible for recruiting, training and educating team members, company personnel to promote innovative thinking and questioning of established practices. Also be responsible for combining team member onto productive, self-directed work groups.
Job Requirement
* Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
* Minimum of five to eight years of related business experience with progressively responsible work including three years of manager position.
* Completion off all Black Belt Course is a must.
* Demonstrated ability to think creatively, ability to coach, train, facilitate, supervise and lead team effectively; lead/produce in unstructured work environment.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills; strong project management & leadership skills; PC skills (Minitab & MS Office is a must).
* Demonstrated ability to applying of Lean methods that range from simple KAIZEN or Quick Change even lasting a couple days to major throughput improvement projects spanning several months.
* Demonstrated Six Sigma methodology and tools (DMAIC / DFSS)
* Strong analytical skills & understand statistical method as well.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
